Time Magazine Articles On Poverty

I have a question about MUN?
My country is Indonesia, and the issue is climate change.
TIME magazine published an article on Indonesia:
“Like other developing countries, the Indonesian government says it needs to focus on economic growth to raise its people out of poverty — and that likely means that trees will be cut, cars will be added and carbon emissions will only go up.”
Do I need to address this as one of my country’s policies? Won’t it make me look like the bad guy? Won’t my solution not, well, get “passed?”
Or am I supposed to say something like “Indonesia believes in placing economy over the environment – this is not right,” even though I’m REPRESENTING Indonesia?
your supposed to actually place urself in their shoes… so really your basically supposed to agree with the policies and defend them even though if you don’t
