is it very difficult to get a job being a magazine layout editor in the future?

i would love to be able to work for a magazine designing the pages and articles is it a hard job to get? i am only 17 now so i will be attending collage after next school year so any ideas of what classes are good to take?

It seems to me that print media is being killed by the Internet. Magazine subscriptions cost next to nothing these days! Newspapers are going bankrupt all over the country. Although it sounds like an extremely interesting job, I would suggest maybe editing for a book publishing company rather than something that may be pretty much obsolete in the next 10 years or so.
