Persuasive Articles For Middle School

should gum chewwing be aloud in school?
i am an 8th grade middle school student and i am doing a persuasive article for my language arts class/ english. and i just need opinions statistics or good websites…..
Believe it or not… Gum Chewing can actually help some students who need sensory input. (ex. I teach students with ADHD and ADD, and aspergers) and these students seem more focused when they can do an academic activity and chew gum at the same time. I allow gum in my classroom, but when they walk out of my room, it is deposited in the trash can.
I think the students and teachers have to work together and respect the building and each other before gum is allowed in various places in the building (gym, bathrooms, cafeteria, library, computer lab, etc)
