How To Cite Online Newspaper Articles Apa
How do I cite an article (APA style) from a medical website that has no author listed?
Website: http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/news/fullstory_60608.html
All it shows is that HealthDay wrote the article (perhaps this is an online newspaper, named HealthDay?). Anyway, i have checked a few sources, but aren’t sure how to cite something, without an author. Please help, but only if you are sure of the answer –> my marks may depend on your answer!
Does anyone know how to cite an online newspaper, with no author, specifically?
This is everything you could ever need to know about APA format:
BASIC RULES FOR APA FORMAT OF REFERENCE PAGE:
1.Label the page References. Center the word References. Do not underline, italicize, or put the word References in quotations.
2.Double space.
3.The reference page should have hanging indentations. Go to Format, Paragraph, Special, and choose Hanging. That will indent the second line of your reference entries.
4.Alphabetize your reference list using the first word of each entry.
5.Italicize the names of books and journals.
6.Do not italicize, underline, or put in quotes the names of articles from print or electronic sources.
7.Include the usual header (Title of Paper, page number) on this page.
8.Use one space after periods, colons, and commas.
9.Use 12 pt. font Times New Roman with 1” margins.
10.Use this website as an easy guide for APA formatting: http://www.liu.edu/CWIS/CWP/library/workshop/citapa.htm
11.Use this website if your teacher allows you to do so: http://www.citationmachine.net/index.php?callstyle=2&all=
12.An ANNOTATED BIBLIOGRAPHY has one addition. At the end of the citation, use parentheses to state the reason for using that work.
Examples:
Book:
Author’s Last Name, First Initial(s). (Year of Publication). Title of Book.
Place of Publication: Publisher.

IN-TEXT CITATIONS:
Always cite the author and the date of the source.
1.When the name of the author of the source is part of the sentence, the date (year of publication) appears in parenthesis following the author’s name.
Ex. Wirth (1994) found that there was a reduction in insulin dosage over a period of two weeks.
2.If the author of the source is not mentioned, both the name of the author and the year of publication appear in parentheses at the end of the sentence.
Ex. Studies have shown that good physical health and a positive attitude are related (Wirth, 1994).
3.When citing a web document with no author, use the first three words of the title of the article instead of the author’s name. Include the date.
Ex. Americans are gradually changing their views on gender (Gender and Society, n.d.).
